When Artists are asked to explain their work things seem to get intellectualized.  For me, my art is a record of the direction of my thoughts at that time in my life.  I live in a remote area north of Cave Creek, Arizona which is surrounded by pristine desert and it is nature that also greatly influences my thoughts.

My Bird Sculptures are my understandings of grace and beauty either in flight or in the anticipation of flight.  The larger Bird Sculptures are mounted so they have a kinetic quality.  I also find myself drawn to wild flowers and create kinetic sculptures in bright colors.  My "Nite Blooms" series are tall lamps in rusted metal.

My paintings speak of humans and the human conditions.  These images reflect my attempt of understanding my own life situations.
